Igor Popov ontving zijn klassieke vocale opleiding aan het Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatorium in St. Petersburg en aan het Conservatorium van Moskou, Rusland. Hij is laureaat van internationale vocale competities, waaronder de International Competition Young opera Singers N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov            (St. Petersburg), en de Internationale Competitie P. Lisitsian.

In 2018 werd hij lid van het jeugdoperaprogramma van de Opera van Rome, Italië. Hij nam regelmatig deel aan masterclasses van wereldoperasterren, waaronder Elena  Obraztsova, Galina Vishnevskaya en Mstislav Rostropovich. Hij trad op als solist op verschillende operapodia in Rusland en Italië, waaronder het Krasnoyarsk Opera en Ballet Theater, Novaya Opera (Moskou), Rome Opera (Italië).

Het repertoire van Igor Popov omvat operarollen uit opera's van Russische en buitenlandse componisten, waaronder Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Glinka, Verdi en andere componisten uit de Romantiek. Daarnaast heeft hij een uitgebreid lied- en barokrepertoire in het Frans, Italiaans, Duits, Russisch en Oekraïens.

Igor Popov received his classical vocal training at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg and at the Moscow Conservatory, Russia.

He is a laureate of international vocal competitions, including the International Competition Young opera Singers N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov  (St. Petersburg), and the International Competition. P. Lisitsian.

In 2018 he became a member of the youth opera program of the Opera of Rome, Italy. He regularly participated in masterclasses of world opera stars, including Elena Obraztsova, Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich.   He has performed as a soloist on various opera stages in Russia and Italy, including the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater, Novaya Opera (Moscow), Rome Opera (Italy).

Igor Popov's repertoire includes operatic roles from operas by Russian and foreign composers, including Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Glinka, Verdi, and other Romantic composers. In addition, he has an extensive song and baroque repertoire in French, Italian, German, Russian and Ukrainian.
